For Mamaw & Other Cuteness-Seekers
Judah and Elijah's Mamaw has been requesting some pictures...and rightly so. It's been a while! So I took the liberty of playing with my mom's camera today -- boy, does it take great pics! Matt's actually looking at getting us a new one now. Please enjoy the adorable cuteness that my children bring to your screen. :-D
Judah loves getting in the bouncy seat. Good thing he still hasn't tipped the scales of it's maximum weight. He can even attach the toy bar all by himself...and does so frequently. Perhaps he's trying to be like Elijah? Is it a good memory for him? Or does he really enjoy it?

I wasn't doing anything, honest!

Precious. Check out the SHADOW of eyelashes. I'm tellin' ya, their to die for!

Our happy baby! He loves his tongue and raspberries all the time, creating nice beards of bubbles.

Whud up, ya'll? Not much here -- just cheesin'!

Some brother time. The latest development has been Judah trying to feed Elijah whatever Judah is eating/drinking. We'll never know if part of a ravioli made it down, but I am sure yesterday Elijah got to taste grahm cracker. When I picked him up after while, that's when I saw crumbs around his eye. I have also often come to the room with Elijah crying and Judah trying to shove his cup's straw in Elijah's mouth for him to have a drink. I appreciate Judah's kindness and sharing...but oh my!

Here is an example of sharing. First, Judah tastes then shares with Elijah.

So many people think Elijah is a perfect baby. ;-) He still has a very strong cry like he's had from day one. His cry has many facets still -- mad, grieving, pouting, fussing. Thankfully, he only really cries when he is hungry, tired, or WAY poopy. I love the pic of his after-cry face. So pitiful and adorable at the same time.

My beefy 3 month old who wears anywhere from 6 to 12 months clothing -- favoring the 9-12 month range. It's so odd. He does have some fat, but "beefy" is the proper description. He's not a fat baby. If you look at him from the back, you can see how wide his stature is. Football is what I'm thinking, for sure!

Still our little Linus. Update on the Travel Blank -- he even knows that's what it's called now and loves it as much as the other two blanks. It's SUPPOSED to be that he has one blank to be with, one as a back-up, and then Travel for car/church. Nope. He almost always wants all three. In the morning when I get him up, he hands me one blank, then another, then another. THEN he will get up so I can pick him up. Silly kiddo. We do only allow one blank when we go out, though.

::sigh:: So beautiful.

Judah is very smart and good at doing alot of things. One thing he is good at is whining. :-P This is when he first saw my mom's cool camera with lots of buttons and a flash and a strap and a lens cap...a kid's electronic no-no paradise!

Daddy Time. I'm still learning how to play with them as well as he does. He's such a great Daddy and Huzby!

Whew! Hope you got your fill!

Cup 'o Tea
Here I sit at my dining table with a warm cup of tea while Eljah naps, Judah learns from Blue's Clues (while having his chosen snack of corn and juice), and the air outside keeps things chilly. It's odd to hear air running so often in our home. We barely used it in California. The trees are quite beautiful around here. Remember the view from our Cali apartment? A sunny pool surrounded by palm trees with kids swimming all day during mid-October or November. Well, this is our view now...quite different.

We're having our family portraits taken tonight for our church's pictoral directory -- and if they are good enough (for a good price), we'll go ahead and make them our yearly portraits. It'd be nice to kill two birds with one stone.
Judah's head is doing ok. It's not nearly as ugly as I thought it would be. Although, he has hit it twice on the coffee table since the original incident. I knew biting your cheek over again was common after an initial bite, but hitting your head? My mom helped me realize last night that he'll have the lovely mark for our portraits; but it's a memory and not that bad, really.

Another apartment picture: the Dining Room. Love it! The only issue I have is that since we don't have a computer desk to catch receipts, bills, mailing items, etc...it ends up on the dining table. And I am one of those people that if my table is clear and the kitchen counters clear, life is peachy. Maybe we can eventually find a little credenza of sorts to put by the front door to help with some organization. And I can't tell you how much I LOVE not having bookcases in the dining room!!!

Not sure if I mentioned it, but I had to throw one of our Patricks out. The purple potted Patrick started growing something just like a potted palm I had once. So far, the green potted Patrick is ok...and I hope he remains that way!
For you women folk out there, I found an OB here that I see on Friday. Guess what! VBACS are actually encouraged here. All I want from Dr. W is to see her confidence in helping a woman who has had 2 c-sections try for a VBAC...eventually. Like 4 years from now or something. :-P I'm just excited that I'm not locked into another c-section because of legal mumbo jumbo.
We still love our church and are pretty sure this is where we'll park it. We've been a part of the membership class for several weeks. The teaching is superb and the people very Acts-like. I'm quickly attaching to a few ladies, which I am very thankful for. It's nice to know that we'll be here for years and can truly invest in these people. We are going to be talking with the youth leader this week about possibly starting to serve in youth group soon. Both of us have tugs in our hearts for this area -- especially the opportunity to influence them in the area of purity and modesty. We weren't perfect in our pre-marriage relationship. We felt the struggle like everyone else, but praise God we are proof that it can be done and that the reward is ever so sweet...not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Anyway...off my soap box now.
GUESS WHO is coming to lunch on Wednesday!!! The Achilles! That's right. We never got to have our GBC pastor and family over in Salinas...but now that we're on this coast, they can come. Go figure. :-P They are over here because Tim Borland's AT-Cure Tour is now finished. All 63 marathons in just 63 days! They're driving down from PA to DC on Wednesday, and we happen to be on the way. It will be so sweet to see them and have them in our home!
We went to Subway for lunch yesterday. The only big enough table available had a New Homes magazine on it. So I brought it home with us to browse through. Gosh, it will be so wonderful to someday have a home of our own. Pray with us that God will provide sooner than we even anticipate! Housing in this area is expensive, but there are lots of good deals because of the slump. Wisdom is what we need...well, and money, too. :-P
Well, I better wrap up. I don't have much to do today (what??), so I want to keep it relaxed. Gonna go play with Judah-udah!

All Good Records..
...must come to an end.
Many have commented on how non-kid friendly our coffee table is. Well, after 1.5 years, tradgedy has happened. I'd say that's a good long time for no accidents with the table. Judah was playing with a laundry hamper near the table. The only thing I can figure out is that it tumped over and he knocked his noggin on the edge. I really don't even know how that could have happened because he was in between the couch and table so there wasn't much room. Much crying ensued followed by Tylenol (which is gold now because of the recent debate) and ice. It's amazing how quickly children recover from pain -- he was playing with his toys and slide within 10 minutes or so. I'd be done for the day if I hit my head that hard! I took this picture within 2 minutes of the incident. It's gonna be a shiner for a while! The green color has faded now, but the bumped up part now covers pretty much half his forehead. I'm just glad this is only the second major boo boo in his life. We've got a good track record, in my opinion. But, like my mom said, someday they'll play sports...and get hurt.

BrrRrR!!!!!
Woah, dude. So we were in a freeze warning all last night until 8:00 this morning. Matt got to scrape frost yesterday morning. Thankfully, he was parked in a "sunrise" spot this morning, so he didn't have the frosty joy this morning. Judah is just too cute in his coat -- he loves it! I'm starting to become more aware of how hard it will be to adjust to being a mom in cold weather. How on earth are you supposed to know how much to bundle your kids? Aut, any suggestions from your Cleveland years? :-) We're wondering how much our first energy bill here is going to run us.........
Check out this TASTY recipe for Pumpkin Pie Pancakes...yes I actually had time to resurrect my posting on Savary Sensations!
Matt and I gave Elijah his second bottle ever last night during Bible study. Laura gave him his first last Friday night. Kid has no issue with how he gets his milk so long as he gets it. :-P He drank 6 ounces! He is just toooo cute. When I saw Laura carry him up the stairs to take care of him, I just squeeed inside (for lack of a better description...thanks for the word, Thea!) at how adorable he is. His eyes were sparkling even from that far away. I'm glad a few ladies assured me it's not just because I'm biased, but that he really is cute. And still so different looking from Judah, I think. It will be so fun to see what they look like as they continue to grow.

Yesterday, I was randomly wondering when Judah would hit the point where he'd just start falling asleep anywhere (kind of like Xander in all of Desi's posts). Funny thing...he did it for the first time yesterday. I was trying to quickly get some e-mails done. Judah was going nuts with the whining because it was pretty much nap time. Next thing I knew, he was konked out in the middle of the floor!!! I moved him to his crib, changed his soggy diaper, and he napped until 5:00. Guess those afternoon naps will hit FAST now that he doesn't take a morning nap anymore!

It's pure coincidence that my blog colors match my new Sanctifying Read book, The Excellent Wife. That's the book the ladies are going through in our young marrieds Bible study. And, Matt and I are borrowing Laura's Rosetta Stone for Italian...since he's going to Europe with Jensen for a month next May/June. So far we know cat, dog, horse, boy, girl, woman, man, car, and plane. Car is my hardest word, sheesh! It really was amazing how fast we picked up on it -- Rosetta Stone IS good!
Stay warm!

Rainy Day Post
Well, we're finally getting the rain I wanted...non-stop. If rain makes a toddler cranky and an infant too sleepy, maybe I don't want it as much as I thought I did! :-P
Our new friend Laura from church "invited" herself to babysit tonight. How often does that happen? Someone insisting you go on a date with your huzby so she can babysit your kids -- or is it so that you can have some time alone? She loves our kids enough that I am having a hard time deciding which she values more. ;-) We're going to a famous burger place for shakes and then for a browse through the mall just for kicks.
Coffee and chocolate do affect Elijah when I eat them. The sacrifices we make for our kids, right? Gosh, what I would give for tiramisu or Chili's molten chocolate cake right now!!!
Rachel came to visit us last weekend. It was SO wonderful to have my life-long friend here in my home spending time with my family! We went to the ladies' breakfast together, a walk in the park (I survived...again), shopping, church, etc. She so thoughtfully got the boys some winter wear! Elijah got some long-sleeved onsies and Judah got a winter coat, hat, and mittens (seen in pics). I'm still waiting to hear how her train ride to Phili went. It seemed so quaintly old fashioned to drop a friend off at the train station (which I've never been to one before). Apparently you can get good rates on train tickets around here, so we might just look into that for a weekend trip or something.
Enjoy!
Whiny faces. Just imagine the nasaly sound "uuuuuuhhh..."

Daddy Time.

Before lunch play time. Boy, is it hard to get a self-pic with two little kids. Not the most attractive, but fun none-the-less.

Judah's new coat...he loves it and so do we! Last night was the very first time we had ever seen one of our children in a winter coat. So cute and strange at the same time. He loves that bat, too. We don't let him play with it, but we thought it'd be a cute picture -- especially if he had stayed posed the way Matt put him. I could insert some comment here about rooting for the Sox or the Rockies. But seeing that my huzby is going for the Sox and my best friend rooting for the Rockeis...I'm not sure saying anything would be wise of me. ;-)

A Non-Daddy approved video.
Judah takes it upon himself to read a feel-n-learn book to Elijah. Judah even took Elijah's arm and stretched it to touch the textured spots. He hasn't quite mastered how to NOT hit Elijah's face or body while playing near him...

CONGRATS!
To my dear friend Beth and her hubby Curtis. Monday, they went to court and officially finished their adoption of sweet Bella. They've been waiting a long time for this! To see the cuteness that is Bella, visit Beth and Curtis' blog.
Congrats, Beth and Curtis!
And I love one of the quotes she has on her home page:
"Everyone should have kids. They are the greatest joy in the world. But they are also terrorists. You'll realize this as soon as they are born, and they start using sleep deprivation to break you." ~Ray Romano
...but at least they are cute while they do it! :-P

QuICk
Well, the boys' room is completely FINISHED. I finally found the valance today in the spot I had put it so I'd remember where it was. :-P Isn't it cute? We moved the toys out of their room so we could have more room in there. Before, Judah's crib was sticking out into the middle of the room, leaving a play area about the size of their area rug. Not fun.

Our room is finished except for putting the dust ruffle on the bed (quite the task). I love the green color - Mother Nature, Behr paint from Home Depot. It's very soothing and matches perfectly.

Judah loves trying to use his play keys as a screwdriver...on anything. He'll be so excited to get his own "tool set" from Nini and Papa at Christmas! He's a cheeser -- when you tell him to say cheese, he does so quite loudly and holds it for a long time.

I found him this way watching Blue's Clues once. He got in the stroller all by himself with an open bowl of cherrios without spilling anything. He's actually sitting in the stroller again watching a little Over the Hedge. He loves that thing. Maybe we should invest in a Judah sized chair? Do they have those plush ones in the Cars variety? :-P

Too Cute. And look how big his thigh is compared to my hand! He's in size 3 diapers and 6 or 6-9 month clothing now. He'll be three months on Oct. 31. And he's such a happy baby...who sleeps from 8:30 to 6:30!!! Woo hoo!

Gotta go feed de bebe. Have a good day!
